To your health,
Coach Katie
Last time in this series, we talked about the safety of homeopathy. Now that you know you want to try some remedies, let’s talk about where to buy them!
I have no affiliate relationship with any of these companies. I recommend them because I love their products!
Shop Local
If you are lucky enough to have a natural food store near you, they are likely to have homeopathy stocked in their store. Even if they don’t carry single remedies, many have combination remedies sprinkled in with the herbs and supplements. Take a look and support your local businesses first!
Unfortunately, many of us don’t have access to remedies in a physical store. Luckily there are many online options.
Note about Amazon: I’m not a fan of buying herbs, remedies, or supplements from Amazon. It makes me nervous if my remedies don’t come directly from the homeopathic pharmacy. However, sometimes convenience wins over and I’ll add a combo remedy to my cart. In these cases, I just try to make sure I’m ordering from the company’s own Amazon store and NOT from a third-party seller I don’t recognize.
Start with a Kit
It can be a little bit of an investment, but buying a kit (a package of several remedies) is truly the best way to start. Helios has a great 18-remedy kit with a little booklet that is extremely helpful. (Moms-to-be, check out this awesome childbirth kit!) Helios is a UK company and occasionally their packages don’t make it to the states. Update: I have since found a company in the States that I recommend buying your Helios kits from. Directly from Nature has 4 different kits to choose from!
Washington Homeopathics has a great 100-remedy kit in 30C. This is great for acute situations. I take my 30C kit along every time we plan to be gone more than half a day.
Natural Health Supply has a few kits to choose from, too. I have their Professional Kit 1 in 6C and we use this more in the house than any other kit I own. They also have a cold and flu remedy kit with great remedies included.
Single Remedies
If you want to buy the 2-dram (chapstick-sized tube) remedies one at a time, my favorite company is Boiron. They often have sales and shipping deals on their website. Vitacost also carries Boiron and I’m often adding remedies to my order.
If you’re looking to replace single remedies in your kits, which are half-dram sized vials, good choices include Natural Health Supply and Washington Homeopathics.
Some other companies that sell single remedies that I don’t have much experience with include Standard Homeopathics (Hyland’s) and Ollois.
Combination Remedies
Boiron is my favorite place to shop for combo remedies. My favorite combos from Boiron are ColdCalm and Chestal cough syrup. And don’t forget their Arnicare line! We use Arnicare cream and Calendula cream for all sorts of owies in our house.
The Homeopathy Store also has some unique and effective combo remedies. I especially love their Detox Escort for support during the transition of seasons.
Another company that has combo remedies I love is called Similasan. Their eye drops really work like magic. I’ve even used the ear drops during pregnancy to prevent wax build-up. This brand can even be found in the pharmacy section of the grocery or department store. I prefer to purchase Similasan products on Vitacost.
Cell Salts
Hands down the best company to order cell salts from is Hyland’s. Vitacost carries Hyland’s cell salts but have been out of stock a lot this year (2020).
If you prefer a spray (such as for children or babies), Homeopathy Store sells most of the cell salts as a spray. Natural Health Supply also offers the cell salts if you are placing an order with them and want to add them on.
Nosodes and Hard-to-find Remedies
If you are familiar with nosodes and are wondering where to order them, I want to first direct you to your homeopath. If that isn’t an option for you right now, there are a couple different things you can do. You can find an HP supervisor (like me) and pay for their services so you can order nosodes through them. You can take a class with Joette Calabrese and then order remedies from OHM. Or you can take the homeoprophylaxis class from Sue Meyer so you can order her kit.
Some remedies can be particularly hard to find. Often, I find myself just doing a basic internet search to find what I’m looking for. But I almost always come back to Natural Health Supply or Washington Homeopathics for those remedies that are hard to find.
Bonus tip: Before I end this post, I want o make sure you knw that homeopathy is great to use on plants! If you’re interested in agrohomeopathy or want remedies specific for plants that can be hard to find, check out Turning Ranch Homeopathic.
This concludes the 10-part series for beginners! Be sure to check out the other posts and keep your eye out for the bonus post talking about the top 5 remedies you should always have on hand.
